Every year the IDYA organises a weekend away, the past 2 years we held Surfing Weekends in Lahinch and Bundoran. Now we thought we would do something a bit different this year so we decided to have a Camping Weekend!

Location: Slane Farm Hostel & Campsite.

Date: 9th – 11th  September 2011

Time: From 4pm

Cost: €10 per person per night (pay on arrival)

Important: You are responsible for bringing your own camping equipment. A small BBQ will be provided on both nights.

It is important that you are prepared for the camping weekend, so here are a list of questions to help you.

  • What do I need to bring?

You will have to bring your own camping equipment, this includes tents, sleeping bags, chairs, torches, airbed, pillows etc.. .Whatever you need for camping and to survive in the outdoors. Don’t forget to bring warm and waterproof clothing in case it rains plus at night it can get very cold so please wrap up warm.

  • What facilities does the campsite have?

The campsite will have toilets and showers available. There is a kitchen available in the hostel which we are allowed to use for cooking but we recommend bringing your own disposable BBQs or camp stoves so you can experience the outdoors! There is free car parking available on site also.

  • What about food?

On both nights, we will be providing a small BBQ which is included in the cost, however it is recommended that you bring some other foods to keep you full such as snacks or fruit. You will be responsible for your own breakfast and lunch. Drinks are not included so you will have to bring your own drinks.

  • Can I bring any alcohol?
Yes you allowed to bring alcohol on the site however drink in moderation and we encourage you to be aware of the recommended alcohhol guidelines. Have a look at www.drinkaware.ie for more information.
  • Will there be any activities?

Yes, on Saturday we are aiming to do a series of challenges and whichever team wins will get a special prize!

  • Can I just go for one night?

Yes you can come to the Camping Weekend for one or two nights. You must arrive after 4pm that day and leave before 1pm the next day if you plan to come for one night.
